How I Run a Successful Virtual Assistant Business from an RV
When people find out I work from an RV, I usually get the same question.
“But… how do your clients feel about that?”
The answer is simple.
They don’t mind at all.
In fact, many of them forget I’m traveling because their work continues exactly as it always has. Emails are answered. Projects get completed. Calendars stay organized. Websites get updated. Everything happens on schedule.

For years, I worked from a traditional home office. It was comfortable, familiar, and practical. But over time, I realized something. One of the greatest benefits of owning an online business is that it doesn’t have to be tied to one location.
My husband and I love to travel, and we especially enjoy spending time in the mountains during the summer. Living in South Carolina means August often feels like you’re walking through a sauna. Most days the heat index climbs well into the triple digits thanks to the humidity.
Instead of spending another summer hiding indoors, we made a different choice. We load up the RV and head north for several weeks.
The scenery changes.

The hiking trails replace traffic.

Twenty years ago, this lifestyle would have been much harder—and not just because I had two toddlers! Today, it’s surprisingly simple. Reliable internet has become one of the biggest game changers for remote professionals.
Our RV is equipped with internet that travels with us, allowing me to stay connected whether we’re parked at a campground or traveling down the highway. As long as I have a signal, I can access everything I need to serve my clients.
That’s important because nearly every tool I use lives in the cloud.

People often imagine life in an RV as one long vacation filled with sightseeing and campfires. The reality is much more balanced. Most mornings begin just like they would if I were sitting in my home office.
